Focus on EOL care for Muslim patients, specifically on the need for the inclusion of Islamic perspective during EOL conversations. We will present a case that proved to be a remarkable example of applying culturally sensitive clinical ethics approach and empowered the family during EOL conversations.

By the end of the session, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the struggles of Muslim families regarding end of life decision
  • Address the need of Muslim families for Islamic perspective for such decisions
  • Learn that use of Islamic perspective can be very effective in enabling families to make the difficult decisions
