5F: End of Life Care in the Jewish Tradition

Lynn Liberman, Ordained Rabbi, BCC

Judaism, as with many faith traditions, carries with it particular considerations for how to care for people as they approach the end of life and at the time of their death. This session will share both spiritual insights as well as practical understandings for practitioners working with those of the Jewish tradition.

By the end of the session, learners will be able to:

  • Enumerate specific Jewish teachings about end of life care as they work with their Jewish patients and their families
  • Anticipate and provide specific actions for sensitive Spiritual and practical care upon the death of patients who are of the Jewish tradition
  • Guide Jewish patients and families to useful resources regarding Spiritual care at the end of life
